What I do

I am a graduate student in Information Engineering (MINE) at Universidad de los Andes, where I also work as a teaching assistant, and I spend most of my time building things that ship. Over the last few years that has meant a census platform running in production for a client across Colombian regions, a serverless Python API for a logistics company in Mexico, a run of data-analytics and process-automation tooling for a municipal government, and an AI-agent web app supporting a doctoral thesis at my university.

The through-line is the same across all of it: understand the problem, pick an architecture that fits it, and get it in front of real users — increasingly with AI coding agents doing a lot of the typing. I like the parts of the job most people skip — gathering requirements from a client who does not speak in tickets, deciding what belongs on a VM and what belongs in a Lambda, and bringing junior developers up to speed so the team outlasts the project.

Where I work

  1. Aug 2026 — PresentCurrent

    Data Analyst (Consultant)

    Multiaservi Ltda

    Bogotá, Colombia

Consulting firm working on fiscal, tax and auditing engagements for municipalities and the Cundinamarca government. I lead data-analytics work supporting tax-reform and land/property studies.

    • Analyzed vehicle-tax delinquency data to support collection strategy and reform proposals.
    • Performed land and property (catastro) analysis for municipal tax-reform projects.

  2. Aug 2026 — PresentCurrent

    Graduate Teaching Assistant

Universidad de los Andes — Dept. of Systems and Computing Engineering

    Bogotá, Colombia

Half-time teaching assistantship for Fundamentos Matemáticos para la Computación, the introductory discrete math and logic course for computer engineering, awarded as funding for the MINE program.

    • Lead complementary/lab sessions across 8 course sections, coordinating with 6 professors (several tenured) on content, grading and pacing.
    • Position funds full tuition for the two-year MINE program in exchange for the half-time teaching commitment.

    Data & Automation Consultant

    Alcaldía de Cota

    Cota, Cundinamarca, Colombia

Contractor for the municipal government building data-analytics work and internal process-accelerator tooling, using AI coding agents to ship at high speed.

    • Built web, desktop and CLI tools to accelerate internal data-analytics and reporting workflows.
    • Built web-scraping and bot tooling, including reverse-engineering third-party web apps lacking APIs, to automate manual processes.
    • Used AI coding agents throughout the stack to design and ship tools quickly.

Web & Mobile App for Gas Station Census

Dec 2024 — Jun 2025  /  Bogotá, Colombia

Recruited and led a team of young, independent developers to build a large-scale census application for regional gas stations, coordinating a team of engineers and delivering a production-ready solution deployed on Google Cloud. The application is an internal tool for Multiaservi, used to survey gas stations across Cundinamarca and other regions for auditing and taxation processes in state projects. I led every step: ideation, recruiting, contracting, design, development, deployment and handoff.

  • Directed the design and integration of web (Angular) and mobile (Flutter) frontends with a NestJS backend and PostgreSQL database.
  • Deployed the system into production using Google Cloud services, enabling accurate, efficient and scalable data collection.

AI-Powered Web App for Capstone Project Design

Jan 2025 — Present  /  Bogotá, Colombia

Working with Professor Rubén Manrique, PhD, and professor and doctoral student Edier Becerra on a full-stack web application that supports design students in defining and refining their capstone projects through AI-powered guidance and interaction.

  • Built with JavaScript, Angular, NestJS, PostgreSQL, LangGraph, LangChain, AI models, and Azure for deployment and scalability.
  • Integrated regular and gamified AI agents that let students interact, brainstorm and receive guidance throughout their project design process.
  • Contributing technical expertise and research collaboration to advance a doctoral thesis while creating a tool with direct academic and practical impact.
